The Equinox is a siren that is a spinoff of the 2001 series. The Equinox is a 2001-130 which uses the 8-port rotor and stator from the Eclipse-8, with the horn throats being changed to accommodate this. It was introduced in 2011 due to Federal lacking a 500hz rotational siren option, which was specified by many nuclear plants. The Equinox is a heavily flawed siren, as the rotor sticks into the rear housing of the siren, leading to poor airflow into the rotor and the siren being quieter than it should be. The 508-128 was introduced to fix the Equinox's problems, but it is still sold today. It is otherwise identical to a 2001-130.
