There was a Hurricane MKII Model In 1973 Utilized Solenoids to make "Hi-Lo" which was the "Fire" Signal. The Hurricanes were meant to compete with the Thunderbolts.
Sadly, most Hurricanes are gone with only 2 left. One in Milwaukee, WI which is the only active oneafter Darien, Il Hurricane was replaced In 5/29/21.
One inactive in Greenville, TX, one next to another ACA Siren. There was another one but it was removed last year.
there is also one on display at Clayton Werdan Electric co (formerly installed in Addyson, Ohio)
The square horned Hurricanes are VERY rare as someone retrieved one from Centralia, Il from a radio tower.
